The LV Shipping & Transport Group was established in 1921 in the Netherlands under the name J. Lensveld & Zonen B.V. The family company started with horse and carriage and traded in transport, road building, sand and rubbish skips. The head office is still located in Vlaardingen, the Netherlands.
In 1977 a new ferry trailer department started named Elvex. Shortly after this the first office in the UK was set up in Sheerness. It was operated a branch office to help return the trailers that were being shipped from Holland to the UK. LV Shipping Ltd was formally established in 1986, set up to undertake major oil and petrochemical forwarding contracts in the North Sea. Now 11 offices are strategically located along the East Coast of Scotland and England.
In more recent years, we opened offices in for instance Singapore, USA and Saudi Arabia. This growing network of own offices and dedicated agents offers you a full range of logistical services offers. Operations Coordinator
JOB BRIEF
We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Operations Coordinator to ensure the accurate and efficient execution of customer orders from start to finish. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining operational flow, resolving logistics issues, and supporting continuous improvement across the supply chain process.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive, review, and process customer orders, ensuring completeness and accuracy in all order-related information.
- Verify and manage documentation to facilitate smooth and timely delivery of goods.
- Monitor and update the status of shipments, providing regular and proactive communication regarding delivery schedules.
- Identify, address, and resolve any issues related to shipment delays, product damages, or other logistics-related disruptions.
- Collaborate with internal departments (procurement, warehouse, sales, etc.) to implement corrective actions and ensure long-term solutions.
- Continuously seek and evaluate opportunities for improving efficiency and reducing costs within logistics operations.
- Ensure timely and accurate entry and maintenance of data in the company’s internal systems.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices in logistics and operations management.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in logistics, supply chain, or operations coordination.
- Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Logistics, Economics, or a related field.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with customers, team members, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Analytical thinking with the ability to assess problems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
- Team-oriented mindset and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional departments.
- Proactive approach to continuous learning and professional development.
- High level of flexibility and adaptability in dynamic environments.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook.
- Fluency in English, Russian, Azerbaijani, and Turkish (spoken and written).
