Production Engineer
Production Engineer role for Production team
Job responsibilities
- Collect and input daily and monthly well production data (oil, gas, water) into production databases and reporting systems; prepare routine production reports for the team.
- Monitor well performance using production surveillance tools; flag anomalies, unusual trends, and potential integrity issues to the supervising engineer for further review.
- Support well modelling activities in PROSPER under supervision; assist with data input, model updates, and IPR curve construction for assigned wells.
- Assist in maintaining integrated production models (IPM); update well parameters following well tests, interventions, or operational changes as directed by the Senior Engineer.
- Support decline curve analysis activities; input production data, run basic DCA fits, and assist in compiling field-level production forecasts under guidance.
- Monitor performance of artificial lift systems (ESP, SRP, PCP, Gas Lift, Plunger Lift) on assigned wells; record operational parameters and escalate deviations or alarms to the supervising engineer.
- Liaise with field operators and technicians to gather well test data, fluid samples, and operational records; verify data quality before entry into production systems.
- Assist in preparing technical documentation for well intervention proposals; compile pre-job data packages, production history summaries, and post-job performance comparisons.
- Support the preparation of monthly performance management reports; compile well and field-level production summaries, deferment logs, and equipment downtime records.
- Participate in daily production meetings and integration calls; take notes, track action items, and follow up on outstanding tasks assigned to the production engineering team.
- Assist in raising eMOCs, documenting Project Initiation Requests, and supporting standard project facilitation processes under the direction of the Senior or Lead Engineer.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in production engineering workflows; apply learnings from day-to-day tasks to improve data quality and reporting efficiency.
