Position summary
- This is a full-time position. The Montessori Teacher is responsible for creating and maintaining a prepared Montessori environment that supports children's development and guiding them through individualized learning experiences in accordance with Montessori philosophy and principles.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain a carefully planned Montessori environment that supports the developmental needs and interests of each child.
- Present Montessori materials and guide children through individualized learning experiences in accordance with Montessori philosophy and best practices.
- Create and maintain a clean, organized, safe, and engaging classroom environment that promotes exploration, independence, and purposeful activity.
- Support the social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and creative development of every child.
- Establish positive and respectful relationships with children, families, colleagues, and the wider school community.
- Collaborate closely with the Head Teacher by sharing observations, supporting classroom goals, and ensuring the effective implementation of the educational programme.
- Provide the Head Teacher with relevant observations and information regarding children's development, wellbeing, and daily experiences.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with school procedures.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and child protection policies at all times.
- Uphold and promote Montessori philosophy, values, and professional standards while adhering to school policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience working in a Montessori or early childhood education setting.
- Montessori certification (AMI, NAMC, or equivalent) is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Montessori philosophy, principles, and classroom practices.
- Strong understanding of child development and early learning principles.
- Knowledge of child safeguarding practices and first aid procedures is preferred.

Education
- Higher education in Early Childhood Education is preferred.
